Robert Ziobro's Studio

The benefits of private music lessons can extend well beyond the studio and last a lifetime. Finding the right teacher can have a lasting positive effect on the student. Learning the fundamentals of music is the foundation of both performance and enjoyment of the art. Rhythm, intonation, phrasing, embouchure, posture, listening, and breathing are all concepts necessary for good musical execution of any style. Once the basics have been established, a sense of musicality will naturally arise and blossom. Private music lessons often begin to inspire a desire for success and discipline through good practice habits.

MY RESPONSIBILITIES

I will teach students the language of music in a positive and enthusiastic environment. It is my goal to empower each student to influence their music education with input based on their interest and long-term goals. I will tailor the curriculum to match each student's specific learning needs and desires. I like to meet students where they are at and work on what they want to work on. I also balance that with recommending material to students within their skill level and developmentally beneficial. I'm flexible with how and what students would like to work on with me. We can work with a method book, learn pop tunes, work on classical and jazz music, extended techniques, tone production, etc. With my approach, students will get out of it what they put into it because I allow my students to have quite a lot of input in defining our direction together.

STUDENT & FAMILY RESPONSIBILITIES

Students agree to arrive at each lesson punctually, well-prepared, and with their assignment materials (whatever they need), and instrument. To make good progress, daily quality practice is highly recommended (even 15 minutes). Please ask questions about home assignments so that the student and parents can completely understand the assignments and goals.

Students must have their own instrument to practice at home. If you have questions or would like input on the purchase of an instrument please let me know. I am happy to set appointments to meet the student and their family for instruments they are looking at and make specific recommendations.

Parents: If something is happening at home or school that is affecting your child please let me know. The more information I have, the more I can be sensitive to the needs of your child.

PRICE OF LESSONS/SCHEDULE

Pre-paid monthly tuition is the only payment required

Invoices will be sent out the 1st of the month and you can pay at the first/second lesson of the month

$10 late fee for payments received after the 15th of the month

You can reserve for weekly lessons

Payment: I can be paid through check made out to RTZ Music Studio, LLC, cash, or through Zelle

Monthly payment is a flat rate based on the length of lessons (30/45/60 minutes)

No lessons will occur on the following holidays: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve

If you need to terminate lessons, permanent or temporary, I require a 2 weeks notice. Let me know your second to last billed lesson.

CANCELLATION POLICY/MAKE UP LESSONS

Lessons canceled with under 24 hours notice will not be guaranteed a make up lesson. If the student is sick or an event happens that is out of your control, we can discuss a make up lesson. Lessons canceled with 24 hours notice will be credited a make up lesson for that month (if able)

To schedule a make up lesson with me, just tell me your availability and I will let you know my available times

Make up lessons do not count as credit for the next month’s tuition

Make up lessons will not be rescheduled a 2nd time

No more than 1 make up lessons per month. That is as a courtesy to other students who may also request a different time. I say on average because there may be a month with extra conflicts, and that’s okay. Just try to make sure either the month prior or after you don’t have any.

Lessons canceled by me will be given as much notice as possible and will be rescheduled within 30 days

Monthly invoices are based on the number of lessons the studio schedules that month and will not be altered. Planned vacations or other conflicts communicated in advance receive a make-up lesson credit for that month.

MUSIC & MATERIALS

Each student is responsible for purchasing the required music and materials for lessons. Materials will be assigned by me and the student will be expected to have the materials as soon as possible. (Ideally within 2 weeks). Advanced notice will be provided whenever possible. I will get the materials whenever able, but it is ultimately the student's responsibility.

COMMITMENT

When students enroll, they are reserving their place in the studio for the entire term (At least 3 months).

REFERRALS

As an incentive, if you refer a new student to me (please make sure that they mention they were referred by you), you will receive a free lesson.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

This studio policy is subject to change to fit the needs of my studio. Lesson fees may increase as the studio needs change. I'm currently from working as a travel studio and at Hartland Music. You will be notified in advance of any changes. Feel free to talk to me about any questions you have or make suggestions concerning this policy if it warrants it.
